Picked up some refurbed wheels for the Legend... very pleased with them, genuine BMW 17", have been blasted and powder coated... a steal at £140 :)
Just shopping around for some tires now - seems that 215 45 R17's offer a good balance of being popular enough to be reasonably priced (starting at £40/tire for budget ones), low profile to look good, and good size for handling etc.
Very pleased with that.

It's now or never!
Hello from the darkness and silence of a lengthy period of no updates. Great news guys! At last! The project is back on
I've gone for gold and ordered everything that was left on my list to buy from GKD... so in about 2-3 weeks time I should have 95% of the stuff to drive it out of the workshop Whether it will be able to drive is another question.... but I'll have all the bits.
It's been a long time in the wait, and it's been a bad year - we bought a 2nd Landy that blew its engine up on day 2, workshop got burgled and all my tools swiped, lost the battle over when we're doing the kitchen (1/2 way through it now) and with our wedding in 2-3 weeks time and me going back to school to study an MBA... I thought it's now or never!
The fact that I'm spending our first married week collecting kit car parts is... well... still being discussed rather vigorously, but generally I've got the go ahead so, here goes nothing!
Peter has been superb and really helpful/patient as well, what a top bloke. I've ordered pretty much everything in the comprehensive kit bar the seats, as I want to actually try a set out before I commit to buying them. Other than that, all I need is some wheels and the odd bit that wasn't worth saving from the donor (brake discs, pads, wheel bearings etc.) and then we're ready to rock!!
So here's where we left off
Installed:
Prod me for more updates!!
Thanks
Steve

So here's where we left off
Uncovering the legend (wasn't that a film?) from underneath the dust sheets, placed on after changing the brakes on Evo and ended up with red ceramic brake dust covering the entire place |
- Engine and 'box complete with new clutch
- Pedal box (bled up the clutch and it works)
- Differential and half shafts
- Brake lines and front calipers loosely installed, and giving away the colour theme there
- Few other odds and sods like the handbrake and the horn
Prod me for more updates!!
Thanks
Steve
